When it comes to making a change in our lives, we very rarely just take action without first thinking through what we want to change. There may be times when the change we desire is obvious and other times, we may know in our gut that something has got to change, but the actual change is less clear. Believe it or not, there is an actual theory on just this concept alone and it is called the “stages of change” and I’ve mapped it out below.
So, what does a healing-minded woman have to do with the “stages of change”? Well, a healing-minded woman, a woman at any stage of life, is a woman who is motivated to make a change that improves her overall well-being. She is a woman who is in the preparation, action or maintenance stage of change- all in an effort to overcome whatever present challenge she is facing. A healing-minded woman does not need to have all the answers however, she carries an awareness that change is for her and she is willing to seek support and community to obtain the well-being that she seeks. “Relapse”, is also a part of the “stages of change” and the journey of a healing-minded woman. This term is used to describe when we slip back into old habits or patterns of behavior. In a community of healing-minded woman we are here to pick each other up to continue the healing process when this occurs.
